Ammonium Iron(II) Sulfate Solution 0.1 N is prepared by dissolving an accurately weighed amount of ammonium iron(II) sulfate hexahydrate in distilled water containing a small quantity of dilute sulfuric acid to prevent oxidation of iron(II) to iron(III). The solution is then diluted to the required final volume and standardized under controlled laboratory conditions.
