Glycolic Acid 60% is an aqueous solution containing 60% glycolic acid, the smallest member of the alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) family. Glycolic Acid is primarily produced by the carbonylation of formaldehyde or by the hydrolysis of monochloroacetic acid under controlled industrial conditions. The purified glycolic acid is subsequently diluted with distilled water to prepare a 60% aqueous solution suitable for laboratory and industrial use.
